St. Francis Of Assisi’s Core Values

Simplicity - St. Francis lived like a beggar; he wore a coarse dress and ate simple food. He simplified his life in order to focus on things that are most important and disregard or avoid things that are least important.

  1. Avoid spending unwisely during school activities
  2. Uses recycled and indigenous materials in projects and activities
  3. Observes simple way of living, e.g clothes, accessories, food, etc.

Prayerfulness - For two years, St. Francis lived in cave, praying and meditating. 

  1. Participates in regular prayer inside the classroom / respects prayer time (for Non-Catholic)
  2. Attends masses, recollections / retreats and other church activities regularly.
  3. Observes Catholic practices and tradition.
  4. Attends monthly bible sharing.
  5. Finds time to be quite.

Love for Nature/Animals - St. Francis loved God’s creatures. He loved birds and beasts. He treated the birds, the beasts and all beings as brothers and sisters.

  1. Observes the proper waste management: Reuse, Reduce, Recycle.
  2. Helps in the general upkeep of the school at home and environment.
  3. Participates and conducts awareness programs on environment.
  4. Takes care of animals.

Discipline - In all his actions, St. Francis sought to follow fully and literally the way of life demonstrated by Christ in the Gospels.

  1. Abides the rules, policies and regulations of the school.
  2. Observes good manner and right conduct.
  3. Does the correct thing, especially when one is alone and without being told.

Brotherhood/Sisterhood - Companions came to St. Francis, people who wanted to follow his way of life. His companions came from all walks of life. He practiced true equality by showing honor, respect and love to every person whether they were beggars or pope.

  1. Cares for other’s needs.
  2. Encourages unity among each other.
  3. Participates in team building and group activities.

Charity - St. Francis gave what he had in his pocket to the poor, e.g beggar. he gave his clothes, goods and money to the poor.

  1. Share time, money and resource to those in need.
  2. Involves in service-oriented activities.
